503 W. Central - The David Peel House was built in 1929 for David & Mary Peel. The plans for this house came from "House Beautiful" magazine. This home has one of the oldest surviving original gardens in Benton County. Mr. Peel was a decorated war hero during World War I, mayor of city of Bentonville, and a banker. This house could also be named the "Mayor's House" as David Peel's grandson, Steve Marquess, was also a former mayor of Bentonville. The home was remodeled in 1954, and was recently restored in 2004. This house is in the Colonial Style.
