708 W. Central - Rice House -The house that was here was built circa. 1925 by Jeff Rice Jr., a local attorney who went on to become the mayor of Bentonville. After his death, his daughter, Shirley Rice, moved into the house. The original home on this property was built in the Craftsman Style. The house had simple features, including a gabled roof design, with the roof line running perpendicular to the street. The house had fallen into such disrepair that it was razed in the first decade of the 2000s. A new house has since been constructed on this property.
