This photo was taken April 3, 1954, at an auction of the contents of Rainbow Drive In. The auctioneer that day was Bob Burton from Benton, Arkansas. It appears they were selling the contents and the building that day. The sign on the truck reads "Good Title, Easy Terms, and Good Music" and lists the Drive In as being two miles south of Bentonville (at that time). If you look in the background, it is all open fields. It also lists the sale as being a grocery store, meat market, tourist cottages, and 2 1/2 acres of land to sell to the highest bidder regardless of price, rain or shine. Notice the old speakers mounted on the truck so everyone could hear as well as the old cars from that era. This would have been located about where Credit Cars of NWA is now located.
