Ringling  Bros. Circus Comes to Town

Monday (Sept. 28, 1891) was and will be known as Ringling Bros. show day, and the largest crowd ever in Bentonville was out to see the "sights" It is estimated that 10,000 people were here. The streets and business houses were crowded with spectators, and when time came for exercises to commence in the mammoth tent with a capacity of 8,00 people it was almost full. They came from every quarter far and near, and well were they repaid for their coming as the grand street parade and performances in the large double pavillion were grand sights. This show was advertised as a large show and every  feature was carried out as such. The Ringling Bros. are winning a world wide reputation on their superb shows. These gentlemen are fine business men and never allow any gambling device to be with their circus and menagarie to fleece the people. Their aggregation of animals was splendid while the circus part was way above the general and the athletic, gymnastics, tumbling and other performances were the best artists and always giving satisfaction.   (TBS Oct. 3, 1891)
